Shuttle Bus Update from SRC! (5/8/2010)

This is a message from SRC website...

"Hi everyone,

We're pleased to announce that we’re implementing our Pilot project for the shuttle bus on the 14th of August, Saturday, which is two weeks from now.

Please let them know that we want all of them who are interested to show up, because if we show the faculty that this is something students want, we can implement it full-time.

Please also be informed that students will have to pay RM 1 for a two-way trip.

The timings are as follows:

Students must be outside SRC Room for chopping of hands (as in put a stamp, not cut off for all you literature majors out there) and payment of RM1 at 1.00pm on Saturday. (yes, just like school; no, no fighting on the school bus)

First bus will leave at 1.30pm, and will make as many trips as necessary until all students are at
Carrefour. Please note that there may be some waiting time involved between buses, so transport will be by first-come first serve basis.

Pick-ups from Carrefour begin at 3.30pm and will continue. Last bus leaves Carrefour at 3.50 pm. PLEASE DO NOT miss this bus! Otherwise you’ll have to settle your own transport back.

After reviewing the data from students, we feel that the best time range is a 2 hour timing, and we really hope you guys support this if you want it to fly. Hit the comments if you've any questions/reservations/issues you wanna bring up.

Thank you, we’re hoping to implement this pilot full time!

All the best,
Amar"

Updates from SRC: 1/8/2010

During the recent SRC meeting, there are a few issues that has been brought up. In case u don't know wat SRC means, it was actually student representative council. They are a committee that represent us for complaint and other things. The issues are as followed:

1.) A shuttle bus to carrefour!?!

"On that note - we are announcing our latest pilot project - a shuttle bus to carrefour on saturdays for students staying in vista. Please note that this is just a pilot, and a test run. We will have to judge the response before we commit the manpower and resources to implementing it! We need students who stay in vista to recommend timings for us, though?

Should it be weekly with less students, or fortnightly with more students?

If you stay in vista, hit the comments and give us your opinion. It's always been about your voice." SRC

The test pilot is going to be held on 14/8/2010 (Saturday) around 1pm in front of IMU entrance. The fee is RM 1 (pergi dan balik). The bus can accomadate 40 students ONLY. It is open to ALL IMU students who stay in vista as well as area nearby IMU. 3 buses will be available and the time of departure will be 1pm-1.30pm-2pm. The last trip from carrefour is 2pm. If u miss the bus, u have to come back by yrself.

So this pilot test is make-or-break time. If it's success, it'll implement. Otherwise, this idea will be abolished.

For those who are interested, pls put yr name, ID and where do u stay (vista komanwel A/B/C) in the comment down here by this coming Thursday (5/8/2010).

2.) FREE PAPER!?!

Pls don't forget to collect the FREE 50 sheets of A4 paper from the library. Just write down yr name, ID and signature. Pls be honest ok? Take only once. IMU SRC will supply free paper every semester.

3.) Security (Safety Issues)

Everyone pls be serious about this and take note. Be MORE CAREFUL. SRC said recently, there have been a few cases of robbery happening in front in IMU and around vista komanwel. So pls take good care of yr own safety and u all know wat to do right. I'm no need to tell bcuz we're all adult oledi ok?

4.) Dress code

Erm, regarding this issue, i don't think there's nothing to say. Just follow the rules la. Pls wear yr student ID when you are in IMU.

4.) IMU Oscar!?!!?

The students choice award for lecturers (IMU oscar) is coming and SRC need core committees for the event.

If anyone is interested in joining to become the committee of IMU Oscar, pls put yr name and yr contact number in the comment down here.

5.) Wii

IMU SRC is going to get a Wii game in the student lounge. Further details, pls check their blog.

Thanks for yr attention~~~

Our old updates:

The orientation certificates are out already. Pls go and collect it from Siao Hui personally whenever u r free la. Thx... =)
